The speaker stopped the attempt to register the draft resolution on cancellation of the decision of the Parliament. Changes to the Constitution are considered by a separate procedure.

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy signed Thursday the law established in the Constitution of the policy of Ukrainian membership in the European Union and NATO. About it reports Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday, 7 February.

The speaker said that attempts were being made to register the draft resolution on the cancellation of decisions of Parliament, which MPs finally approved the constitutional changes regarding the class membership of the EU and NATO.

“We have received an explanation from the lawyers office and the Committee on rules, which gave a clear position on this issue: changes to the Constitution are considered by a separate procedure in contrast to other legislation and are not subject to the provision on the regulations to cancel their actions,” – said paruby.

He added that in accordance with part 11 of article 49 of the regulations of the Verkhovna Rada has the right to urgently sign amendments to the Constitution.

Now the law will be sent to the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

We will remind, on 7 February, Parliament enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine’s course towards EU and NATO. Voted 334 deputies.

Later Rada has adopted an appeal to NATO and the parliaments of the member States of the Alliance with a call to formally start a dialogue individual advice and practical support.
