Pence: the United States will continue to support Ukraine

Vice-President Mike Pence discussed with the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, security issues, reforms, energy and cooperation among countries.

Vice-President Mike Pence during a meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in Warsaw stated that the United States will continue to support Ukraine’s security and territorial integrity.

“Between the U.S. and Ukraine is an extremely strong relationship and we always support and stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Ukraine. It began with 2014, since that time we have supported the territorial integrity of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. We will continue to support the people of Ukraine, in particular, security and territorial integrity, including Crimea,” said Pence.

In turn Zelensky thanked the President of the United States Donald trump.

“I want to thank the President of trump to give him the thanks he congratulated me on the victory,” said Zelensky.

Pence plans to discuss with Zelensky, security issues, reforms, energy and cooperation between the two countries.

“I look forward to the opportunity to discuss issues that concern the progress of implementation of the Minsk agreements. We look forward to discuss security issues. I would also like to hear more about the progress in your country on reforms. And also looking forward to the opportunity to discuss the issues of energy, energy as it evolves in Ukraine, to discuss the issues of energy independence of Ukraine and of our possible cooperation on energy and the economy,” said Pence.

During the conversation, Zelensky has told about plans to launch major reforms during the first year of the reign.

Earlier, CNN and Politico wrote that the administration of U.S. President Donald trump over the last few weeks have expressed their intention to stop providing military assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $ 250 million, but the final decision is still pending.
