Individual restrictive measures affect 155 individuals and 44 organizations. Sanctions extended until March 15, 2019.

The EU on Thursday, 13 September, six months extended sanctions against Russia until March 15, 2019. This is stated in the statement published on the website of the European Council.

“The EU Council extended the restrictive measures for actions undermining or threatening the territorial integrity, sovereignty or independence of Ukraine for a further six months – until March 15, 2019”, the statement reads.

Sanctions affect 155 individuals and 44 organizations.

Measures include the freezing of assets and restrictions in movement.

Information about this decision will be published in the EU official journal on 14 September.

Note, EU diplomats approved the extension of personal sanctions against Russia on September 3.

Russia has stated that it is not going to pay attention to new EU sanctions.
