The document guarantees to the poles in Ukraine and Ukrainians in Poland the right to learn their native language.

Poland and Ukraine have signed the Declaration, which ensures the Polish national minority in Ukraine and Ukrainian minority in Poland the right to learn their native language and learn the language. This was reported by Polish radio.

The document was signed by the Ministers of education of Poland and Ukraine Liliya Hrynevych and Anna Zalewski. In the Declaration, the heads of educational departments recalled the applicability of international treaties on the subject of mutual cooperation.

Zalewski, the Polish Minister stressed that the signed Declaration confirms previous agreement between the two countries.

“The agreements contains an unambiguous statement that both parties guarantee to citizens of Ukraine in Poland and poles in Ukraine, the teaching of native language and native language”, – said the Minister and added that he agreed with ed on further cooperation.

Earlier, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski refused Hungarian counterpart péter Szijjártó in signing a joint letter to Ukraine’s law on education.

Recall that Poland opposes the revision of the agreement on Association of Ukraine with the European Union and encourages Kiev and Budapest to resolve through dialogue a dispute over Ukrainian law “About education”.
