Poroshenko and Erdogan agreed to increase the validity of visas for Ukrainians in Turkey up to 90 days

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held a meeting with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his working visit to Istanbul, the press service of the Ukrainian President.

According to Poroshenko, during the meeting, agreement was reached on holding education and trainings for Ukrainian police officers to the Turkish side. “First training will be held the first 1.5 thousand Ukrainian policemen, then again the same police officers will undergo trainings. In total 3 thousand Ukrainian police in the near future will be trained, the training in Turkey”, – said the President.

The head of state stressed that this is a very effective form of cooperation between the police of the two countries, and added that in the framework of the training program “train and borodoi” Ukrainian police will also be given the appropriate equipment.

Poroshenko announced the agreement to perform the same exchange for training in the National guard and noted the very effective cooperation of the two armies.

According to the President, during the meeting reached a number of very important agreements. “First: final approval of the agreement on mutual protection of investments, agreement on avoidance of double taxation, which opens up mutual investment opportunities for Turkish investors in Ukraine and for Ukrainian investors in Turkey”, – said Poroshenko.

He noted that was achieved the agreement to intensify negotiations on a free trade zone in order that both sides came to a compromise and removed any obstacles in the bilateral economic cooperation.

In addition, the sides discussed new projects in the sectors of mechanical engineering and aircraft construction, in the defense industry.

Poroshenko also announced the agreement on prolongation of the validity term national visas for continuous stay of Ukrainians on Turkish territory up to 90 days.
