President of Ukraine Poroshenko and Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe discussed the support of sanctions against Russia, a telephone conversation took place a week before the visit to this country of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. This was reported on the official website of the President.

“Petro Poroshenko also supported the position of Japan on the conservation policy of international sanctions against the aggressor country. In this context, Shinzo Abe stressed the importance of implementing the Minsk agreements”, – stated in the message.

In addition, the President noted the lack of progress in the Donbass because of the continuing Russian supply of heavy weapons in the occupied territories and the continuation of attacks by Russian fighters. Prime Minister of Japan announced that Putin will come to the country to visit on December 15-16.

Also Poroshenko thanked the Prime Minister for his continued support for Japan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine, including in the framework of the presidency of the country in the “Big seven”.

“The leaders of the two countries separately condemned the human rights violations in the occupied Crimea and agreed to coordinate position in the framework of international organizations, including the UN,” – said in the message.

The leaders of Ukraine and Japan have discussed the priority issues of trade-economic and investment cooperation.
