The head of state informed the Minister of foreign Affairs of Italy, the head of the OSCE Angelino Alfano about the situation in the Donbas and welcomed his decision to visit the region.

President Petro Poroshenko has held a meeting with Minister of foreign Affairs of Italy, the head of the Organization for security and cooperation in Europe, Angelino Alfano. During the meeting, Poroshenko told the Prime Minister about the situation in the Donbas and welcomed his decision to visit the region, informs the press service of the Ukrainian President on Tuesday evening, January 30.

Poroshenko also congratulated Italy since the beginning of the OSCE chairmanship and thanked him for the inclusion of the settlement of the situation in the Donbass in the priorities of their work.

Special attention was paid to further deterioration of the situation with human rights in the territory of the occupied Crimea.

The two sides also discussed priority issues of bilateral cooperation, the Prime Minister welcomed the growth of Italian business in Ukraine.

Earlier today the Prime Minister also met the Minister of internal Affairs Arsen Avakov and Minister of foreign Affairs Pavlo Klimkin. They discussed the issue of a detainee in Italy, the Ukrainian military Vitali Marcia.

Also, agreement was reached on the visit klimkina and Alfano Donbass on Wednesday, January 31.

Recall, the foreign Ministers of the Norman Quartet (Ukraine, Germany, France, Russia) are to meet on February 16 in the framework of the Munich conference on security issues.
