The former President will replace Yevhen Marchuk, who headed in Minsk the subgroup on safety.

President Petro Poroshenko has appointed Yevhen Marchuk as the representative of Ukraine in the Tripartite contact group talks in Minsk on resolving the situation in Donbas. On Thursday, November 22, reported the first Vice-speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Gerashchenko in Facebook.

“Eugene K. all these difficult years with dignity represented Ukraine in the security group. He is well-versed in the issues of the Minsk negotiations and will strongly defend the national interests of Ukraine”, – wrote Gerashchenko.

Recall that Kuchma withdrew from the negotiation group in Minsk on 2 October. His negotiations were temporarily replaced by presidential adviser Ruslan Demchenko.

Marchuk had previously been the representative of Ukraine in the subgroup TAG on security.
