Poroshenko urges Russia to cease fire for Easter

The President ensures observance of the cease-fire regime in ATO area in response to the same actions of Russia.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko expects that Russia and the separatists in the Donbass will set the silent mode at least for Easter and if that happens, undertakes to guarantee the cease-fire with the APU.

“Today, good Friday. This year Easter will be a test for Russia to her affiliation with Christian civilization. To pass this test, Russia and its puppets have to unconditionally cease fire at least for Easter,” reads the report, released Friday morning in an official visit Poroshenko in Facebook.

The head of state said that if this is done, he stands ready to guarantee the observance of the ceasefire regime from the Ukrainian side, “with the hope that he will get a permanent, not time-limited”.

Also Poroshenko noted that expects support for this initiative by the Western partners of Ukraine.

As previously reported, in non-government controlled part of Donbass is 34-strong contingent of Russian troops. This was stated by Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadim pristayko during his speech at the UN security Council on the evening of 28 April.
