The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Day of science called on the workers of scientific sphere of Ukraine to make every effort to strengthen the economy and strengthen the country’s defense. A statement released by the press service of the President.

“In the current difficult times Ukraine needs innovative approaches to solving actual problems. You must make every effort to strengthen the economy, strengthen the defense capability of the country, development of socio-humanitarian sphere and that modern science should be the key to progressive change and transformation”, – said Poroshenko.

He noted that the implementation of these ambitious goals are designed to contribute to the new edition of the Law of Ukraine “On scientific and scientific-technical activities”. According to him, this law asserts Ukraine’s European choice in the scientific field and ensure its integration into high-tech competitive environment, which opens up broad prospects for Ukrainian researchers and manufacturers of high technology products.

“An important factor in the process of modernization will be your desire to upgrade this sector to democratic principles and active position in the comprehensive statement of principles of scientific ethics. Believe that your talent, dedication hard work and loyalty to one’s chosen field will become a reliable basis for strengthening the authority of science, improve the efficiency of fundamental and applied research, for attracting young talent that will build and protect European Ukraine”, – said Poroshenko.
