The President of Ukraine will take part in ceremony of commissioning of the TRANS-Anatolian gas pipeline

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on Tuesday, June 12, will pay a working visit to the Republic of Turkey at the invitation of its President. About it reports a press-service of the head of state on Monday evening, June 11.

“The visit is at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The program of the visit envisages several bilateral meetings of the President of Ukraine with leaders of foreign States”, – stated in the message.

It is noted that Poroshenko will take part in ceremony of commissioning of the TRANS-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP).

Earlier it was reported that on June 12 the official opening of TANAP gas pipeline in the Turkish city of Eskisehir. Its initial capacity will be 16 billion cubic meters of gas per year. About 6 billion cubic meters will be delivered to Turkey and rest to Europe. In the future, the pipeline capacity will be increased to 24 billion cubic meters of gas a year, and then to 31 billion cubic meters.

In the TANAP project to 30% belongs to Turkish Botas and 58% of the state oil company of Azerbaijan, and 12% BP.

Recall, may 29, was held in Azerbaijan launching the southern gas corridor. This project includes the extension of the gas pipeline Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum, construction in Turkey, TRANS Anatolian pipeline and the construction of the TRANS Adriatic pipeline (TAP).

In this project, the gas produced will be delivered to Europe through pipelines with a total length of 3500 km through Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Greece, Bulgaria and Albania to Italy.
