President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has appointed presidential grants to 14 doctors of science for scientific research for 2016. The corresponding decree published on the presidential website.

Also, the press-service of the President reports that at the meeting with the researchers emphasized the importance of supporting young researchers for active growth of Ukrainian science

“I believe that our science is successfully pave the way to upgrade and adequately respond to the needs of society, to work actively on the integration of Ukraine into the European intellectual and scientific space,” he said.

According to Poroshenko, it will facilitate dialogue with the Ukrainian scientific institutions and scientists from European and global scientific community.

The President noted that the training of young scientists should not be confined to the provision of technical knowledge and skills needed to conduct research.

“The training of young talents should ensure awareness of their rights and duties recognized by professional values and standards of conduct, to promote freedom of scientific creativity and to positively influence on increase of efficiency of realization of potential of our young generation of Ukrainian scientists. I am proud of this young generation, I am proud of their achievements and confident that the updates to date will be accelerated,” – said Poroshenko expressed hope that prominent Russian scientists who have already received recognition and credibility, to help the training and development.

Poroshenko noted that the relevant disposal of the appointed presidential grants for support of scientific researches of young scientists for 2016, in which the research work was awarded 29 new young scientists through the mechanisms of state annual premium.

The President appreciated the participation of scientists in addressing issues currently faced by the state. In particular, under the decision of questions of increase of defense capability of the country.

The head of state congratulated those present on the Day of science and wished good health, peace, inspiration and new achievements in the name of Ukraine.

“I am confident that the inspiration that today gives us a positive change in the state, will greatly benefit both Ukraine as a whole and for each scientist, in particular to facilitate the emergence of new projects”, – said the President.

Earlier it was reported that the government of Japan has provided Ukraine with grants totaling $ 335 thousand. for the implementation of five projects in the field of education and medicine in four regions of Ukraine – Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia, Lviv and Cherkasy.
