In Ukraine will create a registry of cases of domestic violence.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed law No. 2229-VIII “On prevention and counteraction to domestic violence”. This was reported on the official website of the President.

“The law provides for the implementation of a comprehensive approach to combating domestic violence, complementing the existing instruments of this struggle, the introduction of new terms and other provisions aimed at improving the protection of victims of domestic violence. In particular, the document provides for the establishment and functioning of the Unified state register of cases of domestic violence”, – stated in the message.

It is noted that the law also aims to align the provisions of current legislation of Ukraine in the sphere of combating domestic violence and violence against women, as well as his adaptation to the European standards, providing training bases for the ratification of the Istanbul Convention.

As reported Корреспондент.net, 7 December, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law on combating domestic violence. The document was supported by 237 deputies.
