Under the new law, failure to pay child support for six months, will be punished by performing community service for a term of 120 to 240 hours.

President Petro Poroshenko has signed a law that increases the liability for fraud payers of alimony. On Wednesday, July 25, the press service of the President of Ukraine.

It is noted that the law establishes a mechanism of bringing to legal responsibility of the debtor for alimony and child support defaulters, who shy away from serving of the appointed punishment.

In particular, it is assumed that the failure to pay child support for 6 months entails performing community service for a term of 120 to 240 hours. Non-payment of child support for a child with a disability and a seriously ill child, such liability is provided for 3 months of debt.

In addition, it will also punish parents who refuse duties to ensure the necessary living conditions, training and education of minor children. In such cases, provided a warning or a fine of 50 to 100 non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens.

Repeated throughout the year, this offence entails the penalty of performing community service for a period of 240 to 360 hours. Evasion person from serving an administrative penalty in the form of community service entails administrative arrest for a period up to 10 days.

As reported, the law “On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine concerning creation of economic incentives to strengthen the protection of the rights of the child on the proper content of the” Rada adopted on 3 July.
