Petro Poroshenko laid flowers to the tomb of the Unknown soldier

The head of state laid flowers at the tomb of the Unknown soldier. The ceremony was also attended by Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman.

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Day of the victory over Nazism in the Second world war 9 may – took part in the ceremony of laying flowers to the tomb of the Unknown soldier in Park of Eternal Glory in Kyiv. The broadcast was carried out on the President’s page in Facebook.

In addition to Poroshenko, the ceremony was attended by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman, the Minister of defence of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak, the head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epiphanius and others.

Note the Day of victory over Nazism in the Second world war is a state holiday and a day off in Ukraine. This holiday in 2016 was replaced by Soviet holiday “the Victory Day” was celebrated in the Soviet Union and then in Ukraine until 2015.
