The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko instructed the relevant departments to resume work at the airport in Mariupol. The head of state said at a meeting of the regional development Council of the Donetsk region, the press service of the head of state.
“Today, I am instructing the chief of the General staff, Minister of defense, Minister of infrastructure and Chairman of the regional state administration to study the issue of launching the airport of the city of Mariupol. Of course, we have to provide security. Of course, we must protect against sabotage and reconnaissance groups. Of course, we must defend and protect from means of air attack of the enemy. I think today is a good time for this”, – said Poroshenko.
In addition, the President announced that negotiations with the European Union on assistance in the upgrade and electrification of the railway strip region.
“After we are closer to Mariupol and intercity. For me it’s the principle of the thing and a challenge that we must shorten the distance,” – said Poroshenko and expressed confidence that it will improve people to people contacts and improve the opportunities for tourism development. Also, according to the President, work is underway and provided funds for road construction in Donetsk region.
