International reserves of the National Bank of Ukraine grew to $ 19 billion. On Tuesday, October 17, the President said Petro Poroshenko in the Ukrainian-Maltese business forum, transfer Ukrainian news.

“In the first months of his presidency, I received the international reserves of the NBU at the level below 5 billion, and today it is over 19 billion,” he said.

At the same time, Poroshenko noted that the growth of the economy was recorded at 2.3 percent, industrial growth in January-August amounted to 25.4%, while the growth of capital investments in January-June amounted to 22.5%.

“The VAT refunds increased by 16%, the procedure of VAT recovery was 54% faster, government debt on VAT refunds decreased by 8 times towards zero… When I was elected President the deficit of the state monopoly in the energy sector reached approximately 10% of GDP, almost bankrupt, but we had an unpopular reforms in the energy efficiency sector and have a zero deficit,” – said the head of state.

As reported, Ukraine’s international reserves at 1 October was $18,638 billion.
