President Petro Poroshenko will propose to the Parliament to pass St. Andrew’s Church in Kiev, the permanent use of the Ecumenical Patriarch. This was announced by the representative of the President in the Verkhovna Rada, people’s Deputy from BPP Irina Lutsenko during the conciliation Council meeting on Tuesday, October 16.
“The President supports the desire to obtain an early Thomas in a sign of solidarity with that process makes a symbolic gesture. The other day will be registered the bill, which President Poroshenko proposes to transfer St. Andrew’s Church for permanent use to the Ecumenical Patriarch as a symbolic gesture that the Holy Andrew in his time baptized Ukraine, it will be a symbolic gesture of unity with mother-Church,” – said Lutsenko.
According to her, Poroshenko calls for fractions of Parliament to support this bill.
Earlier today Poroshenko conducted a meeting with the Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarchate after the decision of Constantinople for the Ukrainian question adopted at the Synod last week.
