The President thanked the EU leaders for the support of Ukraine and told about the situation in the Donbass, Crimea and the Azov sea.

During a visit to Finland the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko spoke at the summit of the European people’s party and thanked the European leaders for support and solidarity with Ukraine. On Wednesday, November 7, reported the press service of the head of state.

It is noted that Poroshenko urged the EU to maintain and strengthen the anti-Russian sanctions and condemn is scheduled for November 11 the fake elections in Donbass.

“Ukraine is an Outpost to counter the main call to European security and stability − Russian hybrid aggression”, − said the President.

In addition, the head of state noted the need to increase international pressure on the Russian side to release Ukrainian political prisoners.

Also Poroshenko stressed that 2019 will be decisive for Ukraine and the EU and one of the priorities will be a joint response to Russia’s intervention in electoral processes.

Earlier it was reported that before the trip to Paris on 11 November Poroshenko will pay a working visit to Finland, where he will meet with President of the European Council Donald Tusk, President of Finland Sauli, Niinisto, Prime Minister of Croatia Andrei Plenkovich, EU Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis and other EU leaders within the European people’s party.
