Petro Poroshenko submitted to the Parliament a draft of constitutional amendments in Ukraine’s European integration

Changes provides for the responsibility of Parliament, President and Cabinet to consolidate the European and Euro-Atlantic directions.

President Petro Poroshenko submitted to the Verkhovna Rada the draft of the constitutional amendments on Ukraine’s European integration and accession to NATO. On Monday, September 3, said the representative of the President in Parliament Iryna Lutsenko, reports 112 Ukraina.

According to her, will be amended in article 85, 102 and 116 of the Constitution, which stipulates “the responsibility of the Rada, the President of Ukraine and Cabinet of Ministers to consolidate the European, Euro-Atlantic direction.”

Recall that in March, Poroshenko instructed to prepare a draft of constitutional amendments, which will be enshrined Ukraine’s desire to join NATO and the EU. In July Poroshenko has signed the national security act, which established the desire of Kiev to the European integration and NATO membership.

In early August, the Ukrainian President stated that relevant amendments will be tabled in Parliament in the autumn. According to him, Ukraine plans to join the EU until 2025.
