The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko discussed with his Turkish counterpart Recep Erdogan, the release of leaders of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people Akhmet Chiygoza and Ilmi Umerov on the meetings in new York and Kiev. About this Poroshenko said on his page on Facebook on Wednesday, October 25.
“Glad to hear that Ahtem Chiygoz and Ilmi Umerov finally free. Thanks to the President of the Turkish Republic Recep Erdogan for his efforts in the liberation of our heroes, as we agreed in new York and Kiev”, – he wrote.
Poroshenko also added that the issue of releasing Ukrainian political prisoners will continue to be among the top priorities during his negotiations with world leaders.
In turn, the representative of the President of Ukraine on Affairs of the Crimean Tatar people, MP one of the leaders of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev said that umer and Chiygoz from Turkey go to Ukraine.
