The President also asked to support the initiative of Kiev on the armed police of the OSCE mission.

President Petro Poroshenko met with the ambassadors of the “Big seven” (G7) in Ukraine urged to extend sanctions against Russia in connection with the failure of the Minsk agreements, the press service of the President.

This Poroshenko noted that sanctions are “an effective tool” and “motivating factor”, which will force Russia to implement the Minsk agreements.

The President underscored the importance of the introduction of armed police mission of OSCE on Donbass and urged the G7 countries to support the initiative of Ukraine.

“Only with the prerequisites of security, of progress in the entered the armed police of the OSCE mission, sustainable ceasefire, withdrawal of artillery and heavy equipment, removal of the Russian occupation troops, the release of the hostages, we can talk about political arrangements”, – said Poroshenko.

The President also appealed to the ambassadors of the “Big seven” to increase pressure on Russia regarding the immediate release of Ukrainka Hope Savchenko and other prisoners, illegally detained in this country, as well as the introduction of personal sanctions against involved in the trial.

Note, may 13, Poroshenko urged the EU to strengthen sanctions against Russia because of the situation with human rights in Crimea.
