The President proposes the Parliament to change the law on forests vyrobce

The President returned to the Parliament a bill providing for the introduction of criminal liability for smuggling of the forest.

President Petro Poroshenko has vetoed the bill for the preservation of the Ukrainian forests and prevent illegal export of unprocessed timber. As reported on the website of the Verkhovna Rada, the bill (No. 5495) Monday, July 23, returned to the proposals of the President.

At the same time, the President’s proposals to the draft law are currently not available.

Recall, the Verkhovna Rada adopted act No. 5495, which envisages a criminal liability for illegal export from Ukraine timber and timber products.

The adopted law envisages an increase in the volume of annual timber with 20 million cubic meters to 25 million.

In the Criminal code of Ukraine will now be a new article No. 201-1 on the illegal export of timber (in particular, unprocessed), lumber valuable and rare tree species. Smuggling of these goods will entail responsibility in the form of imprisonment from three to five years.
