Poroshenko met with Kosher

The President of Ukraine held negotiations with President of the French energogigant Engie.

Ukraine plans to attract French energy group Engie to upgrade the soy transportation system. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said during a meeting with the President of energogigant Isabelle Kosher, reports on Friday, October 27, the press service of the head of state.

“During the meeting the sides discussed prospects of participation of the French party in the projects on modernization of gas storage and gas transportation system of Ukraine, and also in the work on the construction of solar energy facilities”, – stated in the message.

The President praised Ukraine’s cooperation with the group Engie is the largest European supplier of gas to Ukrainian consumers.

Poroshenko hopes that further cooperation will strengthen energy security and transit potential of Ukraine, as well as cooperation with France in the fight against climate change and preserving the environment.

Kosher has confirmed the interest of participating in the National investment Council, the report says.

As reported, Ukraine in January-September 2017 increased the transit of Russian natural gas through its gas transport system (GTS) of 23.4%.
