The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko will lobby for the continuation of judicial reforms and amendments to the Constitution. He stated this during a meeting with leaders of Ukrainian business and the international companies working in Ukraine, the press service of the head of state.

“Justice should be sought through the truth, not for money,” said Poroshenko, stressing that under the Constitution, he is doing and will do everything in his power to ensure the implementation of the reforms, which they was declared.

The President reported that two months ago held a meeting with participation of the head of the NABU, Chairman of the Specialized anti-corruption Prosecutor’s office, of the Chairman of SBU, the Minister of internal Affairs, the Chairman of the High Council of justice to ensure a thorough process of perefectly or testing of each judge.

In addition, Poroshenko stressed that a key item is the vote for constitutional reform. “Each of you should talk about it. Even if someone will say that he has the best project that he puts pre-conditions before accepting a new law on the judicial system, but because something else means that preserved the existing order and is a crime,” he said.

As reported, the speaker of Parliament Andriy Parubiy promised the under-Secretary of state for Europe and Eurasia Victoria Nuland that the Verkhovna Rada adopt the judicial reform in the second reading up to the end of the session.

Earlier, the Ministry of justice has offered during carrying out of judicial reform to attract foreign judges.

We will remind, on February 2, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved an updated bill No. 3524 “On amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine on justice”. The decision was supported by 244 people’s deputies.

On 28 January, the Parliament included in the agenda of the session and sent at the output to the constitutional court of Ukraine (CCU) updated bill No. 3524 “On amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine on justice”.

It is expected that judicial reform will involve a full reboot of the existing judicial system, creating a three-tier court system. Under this system, the lion’s share of cases would be to consider the local courts. The second link is defined appellate courts, the third is the Supreme court.
