The head of state signed a decree on the resignation of Andriy Olefirov, who were injured in the accident last year.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko dismissed from the post of Ambassador to Finland Andriy Olefirov. The corresponding decree №232/2019 the President signed on Thursday, may 16.

“In accordance with paragraph 3 of article 29 of the law of Ukraine On diplomatic service of Ukraine to accept the resignation of Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Finland and Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Iceland part-time Olefirova Andrei Vladimirovich,” − said in the text of the document published on the website of the presidential administration.

Recall Olefirov was appointed to the post of Ambassador of Ukraine in Finland in August 2014. Prior to that, he worked as the Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs.

In September 2018, it became known that the diplomat was seriously injured after falling from stairs in the building of the Embassy. In the winter of 2019, he was transferred for treatment to Ukraine.

Earlier it was reported that the Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USA in Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch will conclude his position with the end of powers of the President of Petro Poroshenko.
