The activists are asking social media users to report on the work of Russian conservators visit the Khan’s Palace in Facebook. Their main demand: no “restoration” work before arrival to Bakhchisarai experts from UNESCO.

The basis for the public outcry became photos and videos taken of the Crimean activists. In their view, is the restoration work, which really needs the Khan’s Palace, it was subjected to extensive repair. As a result, the location of the unique monument of history and architecture can be a remake of iron and concrete.

His concern about the fate of the Khan’s Palace was also expressed by the Ministry of culture of Ukraine. It intends to draw attention to the situation of international organizations, including UNESCO.

The Kremlin-appointed government of Crimea denies everything and even calls to the Ministry of culture of Ukraine on a trip after completion of the work in the Palace.

However, many experts fear that the work at the Palace will cause irreparable harm to this unique monument of history and culture of the Crimean Tatars. This opinion, among others, adhere to the former head of the Bakhchsarai historical and cultural reserve Elmira Ablyalimova.

According to her, after such repairs “the object is a remake, not having historical value.”
