The authorities of Sevastopol on 31 may to consider the question of conferring the title of honorary citizen of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported by Deputy Chairman of the “Legislative Assembly” Alexander Kulagin, writes TASS.

“Today the project of the decision about our first honorary citizen already submitted to the legislature and included in the agenda for may 31,” – said Kulagin.

For this decision according to the regulations must vote in at least 13 of the 24 members of the legislative Assembly.

“Vladimir Vladimirovich has made a great contribution to what the hero city of Sevastopol became a city of Federal significance. Assigning to the President the title of honorary citizen will allow you to mark his outstanding service to the city, which received high praise from Sevastopol”, – said Vice-speaker.

In addition to Putin, the title can assign the head of the state Duma Sergei Naryshkin and the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.

Recall that among the 40 honorary citizens of Sevastopol – Leo Tolstoy, Yuri Gagarin, Gherman Titov, Eduard Asadov, Leonid Kuchma.

Previously, the city Council awarded the Ukrainian singer Jamal, who won in Eurovision 2016, the title of “Honorary citizen of the city of Kiev”.
