Rada adopted an appeal to UN, NATO, PACE and other international organizations in respect of rights of Crimean Tatars in Crimea. This initiative was supported by 240 deputies.

Parliamentarians supported the draft resolution on appeal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the United Nations, European Parliament, parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, OSCE parliamentary Assembly, world leaders and all members of the international community for honoring the memory of the victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people and condemnation of violations by the Russian Federation of the rights and freedoms of the Crimean Tatar people.

The resolution urges the international community not to remain aloof from the situation in Crimea. The appeal also calls on the international community to recognize the deportation from Crimea the Crimean Tatars in 1944 a genocide of the Crimean Tatar people and to join may 18, the Day of memory of victims of genocide of Crimean Tatar people, to honour the memory of victims of deportation of the Crimean Tatar people committed by the Communist regime and to victims of illegal actions of the Russian occupying authorities.

We will remind, on may 18 celebrates the Day of memory of genocide of the Crimean Tatar people.
