MPs have called on NATO to start an individual dialogue with Ukraine concerning joining the Alliance.

The Verkhovna Rada appealed to the NATO parliamentary Assembly, parliaments of member States with a call to formally start a dialogue individual advice and practical support. Deputies 243 votes supported the draft resolution № 10007 Thursday, January 7.

In particular, the Parliament asks NATO to give Ukraine “a Plan of action concerning membership of Ukraine in NATO”. BP calls on the Alliance to approve the plan at the anniversary NATO summit in December 2019.

“Parliament… calls on the leaders of States-members of NATO to approve (at the anniversary summit of the Alliance in London in December 2019) progressive vision for the development of relations with Ukraine that will lead to its membership in the Organization, and formally begin with our individual state dialogue advice and practical support that is the plan of action concerning membership of Ukraine in NATO”, – stated in the text of the resolution.

Earlier it was reported that Parliament enshrined in the Constitution policy of the EU and NATO. The changes will come into force after signing the document the speaker of Parliament and President.
