Rada will appeal to the French Senate asking them not to lift sanctions against Russia

MPs are preparing an appeal to the upper house of the French Parliament.

A group of deputies initiating the adoption of the address of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the French Senate. The corresponding draft resolution 4731 registered in the Parliament on Monday, may 30.

Among the authors of the draft resolution, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy, first Deputy speaker of the Parliament Irina Gerashchenko, the leaders of the factions Igor gryniv (“Block Petro Poroshenko), Tymoshenko (Fatherland), Oleh bereziuk (“Samopomich”) and Oleg Lyashko (Radical party).

On the official website of the Parliament the text of the draft resolution are not made public.

We will remind, during the conciliation Council of leaders of factions, committees and groups on Monday it was the preparation of the appeal to the French Senate not to support the resolution about the possibility of easing sanctions against Russia.

Parubiy expressed confidence that this appeal, like the appeal to MEPs to deliver for the current session the question of granting Ukraine a visa-free regime, will be considered by the Parliament during this plenary week (31 may – 3 June).

Earlier it was reported that German foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier suggested to think about the possibility of a phased lifting of sanctions with Russia.
