Just last year, 5 thousand foreigners asked Poland to provide them with international protection, 520 persons were granted refugee status or another form of protection.

In 2017 276 Ukrainians have received international protection in Poland. About it reported in a Polish Office for foreigners, writes the Polish radio on Monday, January 22.

So, last year 5 thousand foreigners asked Poland to provide them with international protection, 520 persons were granted refugee status or another form of protection. This is mainly Ukrainians, Russians and citizens of Tajikistan.

According to the press-Secretary of management on Affairs of foreigners of Poland Jakub Gudzaka, the criteria for granting one of the forms of international protection were answered by the citizens of Ukraine – 276 people, Russia – 87 and Tajikistan – 35.

227 foreigners granted the tolerated residence permit or consent to stay for humanitarian reasons (the so-called national security).

Most foreigners, 57%, filed a motion for the first time. On average, one application involved two people, the Russians – three. About half of applied people are children.

Meanwhile, in 2017, the negative decision received 2.1 thousand foreigners and 3 million (53%) production stopped. This applies to situations where the alien does not want to continue the procedure in Poland and leaving the country – usually in Western Europe. Almost 80% of the suspensions of production concerned the Russians.

Earlier, Poland had stated that it took 75 thousand refugees from the Donbass.
