If you eat red meat every day 50 grams or more, the risk of colon cancer increases by 18%, says the Minister.

People who regularly eat large portions of red and progressirovanii meat, often suffer from cardiovascular diseases, cancer and premature deaths. This was written by the acting head of the Ministry of health Suprun on his page in Facebook on Tuesday, 4 December.

“Excess processioning of meat in the diet increases the risk of cancer of the colon, pancreas and prostate… Procesoare red meat is included in the list of carcinogens by the who,” said Suprun.

She gave the example that if you eat the meat daily and 50 grams or more, the risk of colon cancer grow in 18%. Because sialic acid in red meat can promote the growth of tumors.

In addition, excessive meat consumption is associated with a greater risk of high blood pressure.

“Fatty meats can upset the balance of the carriers of fat in the blood and contribute to the development of atherosclerosis, when there are other factors, such as Smoking and a sedentary lifestyle,” – said the acting head of the Ministry of health.

Ulyana Suprun advised Ukrainians how to reduce the risks of eating red meat:

  • Ready red meat is no more than 70 grams a day, or a serving the size of your palm. Also it is not advisable to use it every day;
  • Try to completely abandon or minimize the use of progressirovanii meat products – as often as three times a week and not more than 50 grams per day, if not difficult.
  • Correctly handle the meat – bake, simmer and boil;
  • Add in the diet of more vegetables. Make days without meat. If you eat meat, always accompany the dish with a side dish of vegetables, not fried high-calorie food or artificial fatty sauces.
