Rozenko on the Ministry of veterans: the question is overripe

Розенко о Министерстве ветеранов: вопрос перезрел

Pavlo Rozenko

Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko stressed the importance of the creation of the Ministry of veterans Affairs.

The creation of the Ministry of veterans Affairs is true, but don’t make it in that status, which has the State Committee on veterans Affairs. This was stated by Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko at the conference on Tuesday, April 24.

“Of course, the question of the creation of the Ministry is ripe and overripe. But we need to prevent the creation of the Ministry in that status, which has the State Committee on veterans Affairs. Changing the signs is ineffective, we need to create a Ministry to make it functional from all departments,” he said.

Rozenko reminded that to date the state has established statuses and one-time payments to combatants.

“A pattern of interaction between the state and combatants is not perfect. There are a lot of outstanding issues, in particular the interaction of veterans and members of ATU local authorities. We have, under the law, a number of social, domestic, and other programs assigned to local authorities”, – he reminded.

In turn, the representative of the President of Ukraine in the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Lutsenko stressed that each combatant needs state support.

“340 of thousands of citizens, who, after PTSD got an exaggerated sense of responsibility in civilian life, need help. The state, which protected our men must protect them from the problems they were left alone,” – said Lutsenko.

We will remind, on February 27 the Verkhovna Rada adopted a resolution which requests the Cabinet to establish a Ministry of veterans Affairs.
