Russia has banned the supply of oil to Belarus

Россия запретила поставки нефти в Беларусь

Russia is to sell Belarus oil products

The Russian Federation will supply to Belarus gasoline, diesel and fuel oil. The ban will last at least until the end of next year.

Russia imposed a ban on the export of light and dark oil products, and liquefied petroleum gas. This was stated by Russian energy Minister Alexander Novak on Thursday, October 11, according to Reuters.

It is noted that the ban comes into force in November 2018 and will last at least until the end of 2019.

The Protocol signed between Russia and Belarus, envisages a ban on the supply of petroleum products – black oil, diesel fuel, he said.

“It also provides for partial delivery of certain petroleum products that are not produced in the Republic of Belarus and are from the point of view of domestic consumption they need. This is a separate list to the Protocol, a large list – paint products, chemical products, i.e., products of petrochemical plants”, – said Novak.

As reported Корреспондент.net between Russia and Belarus there was a conflict because of differences in approaches to determining gas prices. In response Russia has cut oil supplies to Belarus.

As a result, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko instructed to find a replacement for Russian oil due to the purchase of this fuel from other countries.
