Russia has denied Ukraine in the extradition of former President Viktor Yanukovych. This was stated by the head of the Department of special investigations of the Prosecutor General Sergei Gorbatyuk, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

“About a month ago got a response regarding the refusal to issue,” – said Gorbatyuk.

In this regard, the Prosecutor puts the question of his interrogation on the territory of the Russian Federation. “The conduct of any investigative activities on the territory of the Russian Federation without the police this country is impossible,” he said.

Mr. Yan also said that the protection of Yanukovych gave the result of his explanations.

“On applications of protection… Today is really the defender gave the result of the explanations… the explanations attached to the materials of the investigation… Will be an international legal order in his questioning,” – said Gorbatyuk.

He said that in the notes Yanukovych denies any involvement in the crackdown on the Maidan.

We will remind, on March 1 it became known that Yanukovych will return to Ukraine as President. His lawyer said that the ex-President on the international wanted list not listed and can freely move around the world.

The next day the Prosecutor General’s office of Ukraine has said that Russia does not respond to requests for assistance in the investigation on Yanukovych.
