Russia will not be able to do without the GTS of Ukraine – Poroshenko

РФ не сможет обойтись без ГТС Украины – Порошенко

The President is confident that Ukraine will receive all the funds due from Gazprom by the decision of the Stockholm arbitration, and each day of delay will cost Russia half a million dollars.

Russia will not do without Ukrainian gas transport system, including after 2019. On Friday, April 13, in an interview with reporters, said the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

“I want to note once again: Russia will not do without Ukrainian gas transportation system in any case, after 2019, including,” – said the President.

As you know, the contract for the transit of Russian gas via Ukraine expires at the end of 2019.

Poroshenko noted that Ukraine is ready to transport up to 150 billion cubic meters of gas a year through its territory.

Also the head of state assured that Ukraine will receive 4.6 billion cubic meters from Gazprom at the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm chamber of Commerce.

“I want to emphasize and to reassure all Ukrainians: every dollar decisions about $4.6 billion, Ukraine will receive. I am absolutely convinced, as President. We coordinate the work of our lawyers, and I have no doubts in this regard,” he said.

He also reminded that every day of delayed payment of Gazprom debt by the decision of the Stockholm arbitration increases the amount you must pay the Russian company “at least $0.5 million a day.”

Recall, February 28, ended a longstanding dispute between Naftogaz and Gazprom in the Stockholm arbitration court, which ordered the Russian company to pay Naftogaz $4.63 billion for failure to supply the agreed volumes of gas for transit.

As reported, Naftogaz and Gazprom began to negotiate the terms of gas transit through Ukraine’s territory after 2019.
