Mobile operators are testing technology 5G worldwide

The country goes to the next generation network by the end of 2018.

The Republic of San Marino in southern Europe, the first in the world to deploy 5G network throughout the country. As expected, the country will move on to the next generation network by the end of 2018.

San Marino is surrounded by Italy. Local Telecom operator Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM) intends to use the country as a platform for testing new technologies, writes Il Sole 24 Ore.

According to technical TIM Giovanni Perego, Europe has played a major role in the development of 2G technology, but then lost to Asian countries in the case of 3G and the United States with 4G. “With 5G, we intend to give Europe leadership in the creation of standards,” he said.

Note mobile operators are testing 5G technology worldwide, the highest activity is demonstrated by the company in South Korea, China and the United States.

The European Commission estimates, economic benefits from the transition to new generation networks will amount to 113 billion euros by 2025. Creating infrastructure for them in Europe will require investments in the amount of 56 billion euros and provide about 2.3 million new jobs.
