Ukrainian pilots Hope Savchenko wrote a letter in connection with the attempted arrest of her sister Vera in Russia and called it a “flagrant crime of the Russian justice system”. The corresponding letter released by her lawyer Nikolai Polozov in Facebook.

“Met with Nadezhda Savchenko in jail. She feels better already, and his only complaint is that after a dry hunger strike is slowly recovering… Told Hope about trying to arrest her sister Faith, about the announcement in search. Hope didn’t know about this incident, was extremely indignant. Great pains to persuade her not to make sudden hasty action in this connection, she wrote a statement on the matter”, he said.

The lawyer added that it was filled with statements needed to transfer her to Ukraine under the Convention.

“Is carefully chosen wording. From the number proposed in the sample applications language Hope is abandoned, replaced with his own. All statements made in the name of Director FSIN Kornienko. Discussed the provisions of the Convention on extradition and its consequences. All that was required from Hope, she has performed, now the terms of her release depends entirely from the quickness of the actions of the authorities… next time you see the Hope on her birthday 11.05”, – summed up runners.

As reported today, lawyers announced the beginning of the extradition of Savchenko to Ukraine.

Yesterday sister Vera Savchenko said that the Hope was given a package of documents required for extradition to Ukraine.

On the evening of 27 April it became known about detention of the Faith Savchenko at a checkpoint Chertkovo in Rostov region. The lawyer Hopes Savchenko Ilya Novikov reported that the consuls actually “repulsed” Faith Savchenko at the border due to the fact that she supposedly is in a Federal wanted list because of the insults of the judge. Later it became known that sister pilots returned to Ukraine.
