The SBU has no secret prisons, says Tkachuk

Secret service urges you to be careful about such “loud statement”.

The chief of staff of the head of the SBU Oleksandr Tkachuk denies information of human rights organizations about the existence of a secret prison in Kharkov and from there release 13.

“The secret prison of the SBU – that reminds me ... about the rumors concerning the “secret prisons” CIA” – said Tkachuk on air of TV channel 112 Ukraine, commenting on the report of the human rights organizations Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.

He urged you to be careful about such “loud statement”.

“Information about the “secret prison” in Kharkov is not true… Yes, we have in Kharkov division – the sector of providing a pretrial investigation where investigators are working with the detainees and suspects… There are no conditions for holding people,” said Tkachuk.

He also noted that on behalf of the head of SBU Vasily Gritsak already being tested, if they received any evidence confirming the information of the reports of human rights defenders, they will be transferred to bodies of Prosecutor’s office.

Tkachuk also said that SBU will assist in providing information during the next visit of the UN Subcommittee on prevention of torture.

Recall that in late may, the delegation of the UN Subcommittee on prevention of torture to suspend its visit to Ukraine from-for refusal of access to places where they can be contained people detained SBU.

Earlier, the UN said that the SBU massively detain supporters of the separatists and systematically applies them to torture. In the SBU denied the accusations.
