To force the Ukrainians to cooperate, the security services of Russia to use blackmail and create artificial compromising situation. Most often they are recruited on the Ukrainian-Russian border, the demarcation line and occupied territories.

“During the passage of passport and customs control under the guise of alleged additional verification of documents people are invited to a separate room for interviews with staff members of the FSB. Then intimidation and threats of a ban of entrance on the territory of Russia, problems with law enforcement bodies of the Russian Federation they are trying to force the Ukrainians to agree to a tacit cooperation”, – stated in the message.

Ukrainians offer to collect and transmit data on a dislocation and movement of divisions of VSU, their number and weapons, the details regarding the work of Ukrainian power structures and the like.

In SBU reminded that such actions qualify under the article on treason (article 111 of the criminal code) and punished with imprisonment for the term up to 15 years. But if a citizen does not agree to perform tasks from foreign intelligence services, and voluntarily reported his ties with them, he is exempted from criminal liability.
