Schuster ran out of money.

The TV station Savik Shuster ceases its activities on 1 January 2017 due to lack of funds. This is stated on the page of the TV channel in Facebook Thursday, December 1.

“More than a year Savik Shuster and the entire team of the TV channel worked to prove that non-oligarchic TV in Ukraine has the right to life. But now we have to say goodbye with love due to the fact that we ran out of money”, – stated in the message.

Schuster also said that the situation on the Ukrainian media market “reductio ad absurdum: all TV channels are unprofitable, they exist only at the expense of owners and oligarchs”.

“Representatives of the business, to which we referred, support is received only from one person. If in the coming weeks some of them will respond – we may be able to avoid such a conclusion”, – stated in the release.

According to information on the website of the TV channel, Shuster owns 50% of a broadcasting company “world information service”, Pavel Elizarov (General Director of the channel – 40%, Elena Demchuk – 1%, and another 9% is owned by “global information service”.

Note, the channel started broadcasting in September of last year.
