In the experiment participated 16 people ranging in age from 29 to 57 years. They adhered to the traditional diet, without strict limitation, but nine of them had Breakfast a half hour later than usual and a half hour before dinner.

In the end, the people who changed the meal times, lost two times more than people eating on the old schedule. Also the first group stated that they have decreased appetite, and decreased the amount of snacking during the day.

“As we have seen with these participants, adherence to such a meal may not always be compatible with family and social life. But we need to strive for this, since the potential benefits of such a diet are obvious,” said Dr. Jonathan Johnston, University of Surrey.

Previously, scientists of the University of Groningen in the Netherlands has proven that exercise is less effective for weight loss than diet.
