Scientists have found a way to avoid premature death

Ученые нашли способ избежать преждевременной смерти

The risk of premature death is significantly lower among those people who in the body has the highest concentration of linoleic acid. This is determined by the human diet.

Scientists at the University of Eastern Finland have proven that food high in omega-6-unsaturated fatty acids can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and premature death. It is reported by EurekAlert! Monday, March 19.

The researchers determined the levels of fatty acids in the blood 2480 men aged 42 to 60 years. In 22 years of observation died of disease 1143 people. It turned out that the risk of premature death was 43% lower in those people who in the body had the highest concentration of linoleic acid.

While this decreased the likelihood of developing cardiovascular diseases and other life-threatening health conditions except cancer. Similar, but weaker effect is exerted arachidonic acid.

The level of linoleic and other omega-6-unsaturated fatty acids is determined by the human diet. In particular, a source of linoleic acid are vegetable oils, nuts and seeds.

It was believed that unsaturated fatty acids, despite their beneficial effects, are the cause of several chronic diseases. This is due to the fact that linoleic acid in the human body is converted to arachidonic, which, in turn, is a precursor to compounds that contribute to inflammation.

Earlier, Japanese scientists have established the relationship between the amount of alcohol drinks with caffeine, and risk of premature death. Results were obtained in the survey about the daily diet of more than 90 thousand men and women 40 to 69 years, which is systematically conducted for 19 years.
