These fish, which grow up to a meter in length and 10 kg are common in the American coast of both oceans.

Scientists from the University of California, Irvine found that not all sharks are bloodthirsty predators. According to the website scientific news ScienceAlert, a small hammerhead, which belongs to the sharks, in the absence of “meat” without any problems and eats plant food.

These fish, which grow up to a meter in length and 10 kg are common in the American coast of both oceans. Usually they feed on clams and other fish. But, as has been shown by autopsy, sometimes in the stomachs of these sharks have found up to 60% of plant foods.

Previously it was thought that they accidentally swallow the algae when you ingest “cold” food when you hunt on squids and fishes that are hiding in the Bush.

Few purely carnivorous animals can eat plants, but to digest a food are unable to because of primitive and short bowel.

However, as found by the California hydrobiologists, hammer-fish actually absorb nutrients from plant foods and are needed for this cellular and biochemical mechanisms.

Earlier in the U.S. state of Massachusetts scientists study the great white shark the unusual color, carcass which washed up on shore.
