Seleznev joined the national team of Ukraine

Селезнев присоединился к сборной Украины

Yevhen Seleznyov

The former striker of Kuban Krasnodar and now a player of Shakhtar, Yevhen Seleznyov arrived in the national team of Ukraine in Italy.

Earlier, Mykhailo Fomenko did not include the 30-year old striker in the extended list of the national team of Ukraine for Euro 2016.

In the winter transfer window Seleznyov left the Dnieper and moved to the Kuban that has caused ambiguous reaction of the public. This led to the fact that he, along with other players acting in Russia: Bohdan Butko (FC Rostov), Alexander Zinchenko (Novosibirsk) and Andrey Pilyavskiy (Rubin), was not included in the squad for friendly matches against Cyprus (1-0) and Wales (1:0).

On may 14 of this year, Seleznev broke the contract with the Krasnodar club and joined the miner, whose pupil he is.

Apparently, head coach of Ukraine Mykhailo Fomenko decided to give a chance to Seleznyov to prove their right to travel with the team to France.

In qualifying for Euro 2016 the former forward of the Dnieper has played 5 matches in which he scored 2 goals. Including a crucial goal against Slovenia in the play-offs for the right to play in the European championship.

We will remind, on may 29, the national team of Ukraine will play a friendly match against Romania, and on June 3 will face Albania.

Euro 2016 Mykhailo Fomenko’s charges are in the same group with Germany, Poland and Northern Ireland.
