Shell will annually give $1 billion to alternative energy

Shell ежегодно будет давать по $1 млрд на альтернативную энергию

Royal Dutch Shell will develop renewable sources of energy.

The New Energies division of the Royal Dutch Shell company will receive up to $1 billion a year on renewable energy. This was stated by chief Executive officer Ben van beurden within the framework of the 22nd World petroleum Congress (WPC 2017) in Istanbul, Interfax reported.

“In some parts of the world, we are seeing that electric cars with batteries are gaining popularity among consumers”, while the costs of wind and solar generation are reduced, quoted his statement to Bloomberg. According to the head Shell, these changes are positive news for the whole world, and they should contribute.

Shell drew attention to opportunities in projects where one set of batteries is not enough: for air, sea and heavy road transport is more relevant for hydrogen fuel, liquefied natural gas and a new generation of biofuels, according to the company.

We will remind, earlier it was reported that the EU suspended negotiations on the Nord stream.
