“From today I officially are the acting head of State environmental inspection of Ukraine. This decision was taken by the Cabinet of Ministers, and I am grateful for their trust,” he wrote.

Firsov said that Gosekoinspektsiya is the body in charge of controlling the compliance with environmental legislation and monitors the level of pollution from industrial enterprises.

“Proposal to reform environmental control I got from Alexey Goncharuk four months ago. His vision of the situation I presented first at the meetings with the Prime Minister and then President Vladimir Zelensky”, he added.

According to Firsov, Gosekoinspektsiya is one of the most corrupt bodies, so the question of personnel is his number one priority. Also Yegor Firsov said that later there will be a competition for the position of head of the Inspectorate, and it will take part in it.

On the website of the Cabinet of Ministers issued a decree according to which Firsov was appointed the acting to the moment, while the chief is not elected in the prescribed manner.
