States is ready to resume negotiations on FTA with the European Union

Штаты готовы возобновить переговоры о ЗСТ с Евросоюзом

To resume negotiations on the TTIP with the EU needs to cut trade deficit with Germany.

Washington is open to negotiations with the European Union on the Transatlantic trade and investment partnership (TTIP). This was stated by the Minister of trade United States Wilbur Ross in an interview with CNBC.

“It makes sense to continue the negotiations about the TTIP and help find solutions that will increase the volume of trade and at the same time to reduce the trade deficit with Germany,” said Ross.

Talks EU and US agreement on TTIP was carried out over three years from 2013. After coming to power in the United States Donald trump already complicated the negotiation process was frozen. In January, the United States withdrew from the Treaty on the TRANS-Pacific partnership – Fulfilling his campaign promise trump has signed the corresponding decree.

The project has many opponents of TTIP in Germany and the EU as a whole. Despite assurances by supporters of TTIP that businesses and consumers in the EU is very beneficial to the abolition of customs barriers in trade with the United States, unification of industrial standards and certification rules, their opponents fear a decline in environmental standards and product quality. Along with this, one of the main reasons for criticism is the lack of transparency in the negotiations between the European Union and the United States.

Note, in September 2016 in the European Union said it was ready to continue negotiations on the agreement on Transatlantic free trade zone with the next President of the United States.
