At the European Championships in aquatics, which takes place in London, it was time for the swimmers to bring out the best.

On the first day of Ukrainian sportsmen did not apply for medals, but were on the leading roles in their heats.

So, Andriy Govorov won the qualification and semifinal of the 50 meter butterfly, and his semifinal time 22,73 seconds was a new record of the European Championships. The previous record of the European Championships was made up of 22.87 seconds and also belonged to Govorov.

Another Ukrainian in this race, Andrey Chlopcow in the semi-finals showed the time 23,92 seconds and took 11th place, missing the final.

In the final of the 200m backstroke confidently entered Ukrainian Darya Zevina. In qualifying Zevin was second, but in the semi-finals showed the first result – 2.08,66.

Another Ukrainian swimmer in the 100m breaststroke Valery Smoke with result 1:01,30 showed a 12-th result, left behind the final.
